VIC: Jobless rise an ongoing pattern, says Labor

Jobs figures out today show Victoria is the only state to record a rise in unemployment,
rising to 7.6 per cent compared to the national average of 7.0 per cent.

Opposition leader STEVE BRACKS says the increase, from 7.4 per cent in the previous month,
puts Victoria a full 1.5 percentage points ahead of New South Wales.

He says the latest figures show that Victoria's jobless rate has been above the national
average for 77 of the 82 months the KENNETT government has been in office.
